What is a data supplier?
A data supplier is an organization or an individual you invite to contribute data to your datasets. They take ownership for ensuring that the data feeds they are responsible for are available on time, and meet validation requirements.
Supplier Groups
Data suppliers are managed within Verodat as 'Supplier Groups'.
Supplier Groups help you bundle multiple users from the same organization or department who can share responsibility for a supply of data.
For each supplier group, you must appoint an 'admin' user who acts as the go-to person for the group, and can add or remove other members. There can only be one 'Supplier Admin' and everyone else in the group is a 'Supplier User'.
Why Supplier Groups Matter:
Supplier Groups help you manage the data supply chain, by providing clarity on the owner for each supply of data. This enables your users, and the product, to know who to reach out to when a supply of data needs attention.
Supplier Groups also provide a way to measure the performance of different data suppliers, so you can identify where bottlenecks or challenges might exist.
Notifications and Data Requests:
All Supplier Group members receive notifications on the status of data requests and are enabled to supply data in response to data requests that are assigned to them.
