The Account Admin role
As the Account Admin, you're the one who decides who does what.
You've got the power to tweak settings, add or remove users, and handle billing and subscriptions.
Being an Account Admin means you can dive into the Snowflake database linked to your account just by using your login email. This means you can see all the workspaces and the datasets assigned to you.
A simple example
Account admins can view all the workspaces within that account database in Snowflake.
For example, a user can hold the role of Account Admin in both Account A and Account B.
To simplify this example, we'll give names to these accounts: 'Think Evolve Solve' and 'Cognito Inc.' Because the user is an account admin they are allowed to see all the workspaces in both accounts.
The Account Admin will have a view as below in their Account Switcher:
Workspaces: For instance, in the "Think Evolve Solve" account, there's a workspace called 'Finance'. You can see this workspace along with all other workspaces in your accounts.
Switch with Ease: And because you're the Account Admin, switching your view between "Think Evolve Solve" and "Cognito Inc." is a breeze. Using the Account Switcher lets you hop from one account to the other.
Wrap Up
The Account Admin is the glue holding everything together. They ensure that the right people are in the right roles, they manage the account settings and have exclusive access to the Snowflake database.
