Recap - Creating Mappings

If you are new to mapping, check out our article on Creating Mapping Rules. If you have already created your mapping and want to know more about changing, saving and re-using mappings, read on!

Amending, Saving, and Re-using a mapping

  1. Saving Your Mapping

    • Once you've crafted a mapping, it's time to save it for future use.

  2. Accessing Your Saved Mappings

    • Need that mapping again? Open the mapping drop-down box, and your saved mappings are right there.

  3. Exploring Your Saved Mapping

    • Click on a saved mapping, and watch the expression box for each target field get filled with your previous settings.

  4. Making Changes

    • Feel like tweaking things a bit? Go ahead! But remember, any changes need to be saved as a new mapping. You can also overwrite the existing mapping.

  5. Watch Out for Errors

    • If your source header decides to play hide-and-seek, an error might pop up in the expression box. Just create a new mapping to fix it before moving on to the next step.
