What Are Transformation Rules?

Transformation Rules are all about changing your data. They take your data and transform it into a new format, or a new value, to create a new data point based on configured requirements.

  • These rules change your data's look

  • Different from Validation

    • Remember, Validation Rules decide if your data is correct. Transformation Rules decide how it looks.

Adding Transformation Rules

Open the 'Rules' Window

  • Navigate to your Dataset, open it, click on "settings", then "Rules"

Create Your Rule

  • Click '+ Add Transformation Rule' to begin.

  • Choose the target field and add a description

Build That Rule

  • Use the rule builder to "Build Expression" and craft your transformation rule

Test your rule

  • Once you're happy with your rule, "Parse Expression" and then "Test Expression". Remember,

    • 'True' = all good!,

    • 'False' = needs work! (if you need help, reach out)

Save Your Work

  • Once you're happy with your rule, hit "Save".

Rinse and Repeat

  • Add as many rules as you need, and then you're ready for transformation rules.
