How to enable and disable 2-factor verification using Google Authenticator

You can add an extra layer of security to your account with 2-step Verification (2FA). 2-step verification requires your users to generate a unique code on a second device to verify they are authorised users.

Getting Started with 2FA

To kick things off with 2-Step Verification, you'll need a second device (like your smartphone) with the Google Authenticator app installed. You can easily find this app on the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How to Enable 2-Step Verification

  1. Turn It On: Go to your profile, find the "Security" tab, and toggle 2FA to "Enabled".

  2. Scan the QR Code: Open the Google Authenticator app on your secondary device and scan the QR code shown on your screen and follow the steps:

  3. Enter the Code: Type in the 6-digit code from the app to activate 2FA on your account.

How to Disable 2-Step Verification

  • Switch Off: Go back to the "Security" tab in your profile, switch 2FA to "Disable", and enter the 6-digit code from your app one more time to turn it off.

Logging In with 2FA

  • Enter the Code: The first time you log in after enabling 2FA, you'll need to enter the 6-digit code from the Google Authenticator app.

Lost your device or switched phones? No problem!
